University of Warsaw to hold international academic conference on political discourses in Poland and the Czech Republic after 1989

The Laboratory of Applied Rhetoric of the Faculty of Polish Studies of the University of Warsaw and the Department of Central European Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in Prague are inviting participants to an international scientific conference entitled “Political discourses in Poland and the Czech Republic after 1989: genres, communication strategies, media images”, which will be held on November 23-24, 2020 online.

The aim of the conference is to discuss issues related to political communication in Poland and the Czech Republic, to identify differences and similarities in the pre-election customs of political and media environments in both countries, as well as to draw attention to the similarities and differences in the way citizens are engaged in decision-making processes and the characteristics of communication between politicians – citizens.

The organizers emphasized, that the issues of the genres of public communication, media images of politicians and communication strategies during over thirty years of democratic changes are particularly interesting in this context.
