10.07.2020

The University of Warsaw (UW) is launching four new faculties: phenomenology, special education, city studies and foreign language teaching within the application process for 2020/2021, which will start on 13 July for BA and MA studies.

Fennistics is a course of learning the Finnish language. Until now, this language could be learned at the University by choosing a specialization at the Hungaristic Department or a language course at the Open University of Warsaw.

Special pedagogy will develop teaching, didactic, educational, communicative and leadership competences.

Urban studies are a proposal for candidates for MA studies. The study combines knowledge of sociology, geography and anthropology. Specialists of this field will be involved in identifying urban development problems.

The last of the new courses is teaching foreign languages. Current BA studies include two obligatory paths: path A for teaching English and path B where students can choose one of three subjects: teaching French, teaching German or teaching the subject ‘knowledge of society. ” From the 2020/2021 academic year, this field will be available as MA studies.
