The biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and the University of Warsaw have signed an agreement aimed at strategic cooperation in the area of implementing new solutions in the field of technologies and services on the pharmaceutical and medical markets, education, and improving competences and expanding the development opportunities of Polish scientific staff.
The cooperation will focus mainly on research and development activities. The agreement provides ongoing exchange of experience and research information, joint research and analysis, initiating new directions of research and development, and extensive educational activities.
Cooperation with the University of Warsaw is in line with AstraZeneca’s strategy of supporting the development of the Polish R&D sector and Polish science. In June this year, the company, in cooperation with the University of Warsaw, organized a virtual meeting with the Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Aaron Ciechanover, as part of the Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative, attended by over 600 students and young scientists.
