University of Zielona Góra joined the Open Geospatial Consortium

The University of Zielona Góra has joined the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) – an international consortium associating over 500 members representing research units and universities as well as private and public institutions from around the world.

The main goal of OGC is to develop new standards related to the recording, presentation, accessibility and exchange of spatial data sets. OGC offers access to the latest data in: flood monitoring, spatial planning, information on seismic hazards, crop control, irrigation, disease risk and even losses caused by human or animal activity.

It is also an opportunity to use data sets for teaching purposes, conduct research projects, write diploma and doctoral dissertations and apply for projects and grants in international and national competitions.
