The University of Zielona Góra received the Elsevier Research Impact Leaders award in 2018 in the Engineering and Technology category (engineering and technical sciences) for publications and citation in the field of material engineering.

– The competition was really high in the Engineering and Technology category. Small differences in results of the competitors proved that the level is very balanced not only among the nominees, but generally, among all universities in the country. The winners’ publications were cited at 117% of the world average.

The citation rate is, apart from the increase in the number of publications in the most prestigious scientific journals, and publications with the participation of foreign co-authors, the most important evaluation criterion. The award promotes high quality research and internationalization, and identifies and distinguishes universities whose research work has the greatest impact on the visibility of Polish science in the world.
