Zbigniew Strenk, a student at the University of Zielona Góra, has won the top prize in the nationwide PLGBC Green Building Awards 2022 competition organised by the Polish Green Building Council (PLGBC). His WOOD-HABITAT won in the category ‘Best student environmental project’.
WOOD-HABITAT is an example of pro-ecological construction combining architectural aspects such as well-thought-out functional layouts and numerous technical solutions integrated in an attractive way into the structure of the buildings, whose construction was planned using cross-laminated timber technology.
The entire complex is designed to respect nature through water retention and plenty of greenery. Numerous outdoor activities for residents have also been provided. The WOOD-HABITAT is an example that awareness of what the future of ecological construction should look like is very high.
