Almost 200 thousand Euro for research and the creation of a research team at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be received by Dr Francisco José Pena Benitez, who will work at the faculty of basic technical problems. The co-financing is allocated by the POLS competition organized by the National Science Center.
The scientist will work on the project “Field theory, gravity and topology in condensed matter systems”. The research will be carried out over the next two years. The scientist is planning to move to Wrocław in September and then he will start his work.
Dr Benitez is from Caracas, where he received his BA in Physics from the Central University of Venezuela. In 2013 he obtained a PhD in theoretical physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He worked at the University of Crete in Greece, INFN in Italy and at the Max Planck Institute in Germany. His research focuses on transport in strongly and weakly coupled systems.
