A joint delegation of representatives of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and the US National Academy of Sciences (NAS) was hosted in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. The two organisations have been cooperating intensively for almost a year to support Ukrainian scientists who have had to leave their country. The support activities also concern those researchers who remained in the occupied territories.
During the stay, meetings were held with key partner institutions, including representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NANU), the National Research Fund of Ukraine (NAN), the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Council of Young Scientists at the NANU of Ukraine.
Current programmes currently benefiting Ukrainian researchers were discussed. In addition, discussions covered planned support for researchers, as well as future forms of cooperation. The aim of the planned activities is to support the reconstruction and development of the Ukrainian R&D sector after the cessation of hostilities.
