The General Assembly of IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence has elected Waldemar Siwiński as the new president of this organization.

Waldemar Siwiński is the creator of Polish educational rankings and the founder of the Perspektywy Educational Foundation, which publishes the Ranking of Higher Schools in Poland every year. He is also one of the founders of IREG and a long-term vice-president of this organization. His predecessor as president was Luiz Claudio Costa, Brazil’s former minister of education.

IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence is an international non-profit organization registered in Belgium, grouping authors and analysts of academic rankings. Its members include major ranking organizations as well as universities and accreditation agencies.

The election of the new authorities was the final touch of the international conference IREG 2022, organized under the slogan “Academic Rankings at the Crossroads”, which was held at the University of Warsaw on 23 and 24 June.
