Student team of the Warsaw University of Technology and the Lodz University of Technology took the first place in the national finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018 competition in the Big Data category – informed the Polish Press Agency.

They are the authors of the innovative locator Wavy System for recreational divers. The system, developed by the students, provides information on the position of the diver in real time. The collected data goes to the Azure cloud, where they are analyzed and visualized using the application on the smartphone.

The students are currently working on the fastest possible completion of the prototype to launch the product on the market. There are a few million people diving around the world that will be surely interested in the solution that will increase their safety.

The students from the Warsaw University of Technology and Lodz will represent Poland in the world finals of the competition, which will take place in Seattle in the United States in July this year.
