Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Warsaw signed an agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) for co-financing the construction of the Ecological Education Center OZE.
The Educational Center for Renewable Energy Sources will be built on the premises of the Wilanów-Obory Experimental Farm belonging to the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
The main goal of the project is to shape the environmental awareness of SGGW students, youth and the local community. The Educational Center will be equipped with laboratory and teaching facilities, where students and academics will be able to conduct research and development work, and their results will be used by entrepreneurs – said Prof. Michał Zasada, rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences.
The Ecological Education Center will promote the principles of sustainable development by building a micro-scale demonstration installation for the production of biogas from natural organic substrates, a cogeneration system producing heat and electricity from biogas and a PV photovoltaic installation with a battery.
The end of the project is scheduled for the end of 2022.
