Students from the SAE AeroDesign Study Group at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) won seven prizes, including three for first place, at an international competition in the United States.

At the SAE Aero Design West competition held in Texas, the Warsaw students completely dominated the competition in the Micro class (for small aircraft, including those with power and span limitations). They won the overall classification, were best in flight (completion of a set mission) and in technical presentation. They also took second place for technical report.

In the Regular class (where the most important guidelines include a ban on the use of composite parts), the PW students stood on the third step of the podium three times: in the general classification, for mission performance and for the technical report. 

The SAE Aero Design competition is attended by student teams from all over the world involved in building remotely piloted aircraft.
