The Vistula Boulevards in Warsaw and the Augustowski Canal were awarded by the International Society for Water and Environmental Engineering and Research (IAHR) with the most important hydrological distinction in Europe.

The awards for the innovative hydrological project (boulevards) and for the water heritage (canal) were announced during the 6th European IAHR Congress organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).

European hydrologists honored Warsaw’s Vistula Boulevards with the “Industry Innovation Award” as an outstanding example of a modern waterfront combining response to the needs of residents with nature protection. The Augustowski Canal won the “Regional Hydro-Environment Heritage Award” as a treasure of hydraulic engineering.
