The West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin took the first place in the ranking of Polish and foreign entities that obtained the largest number of patents for inventions in 2019.

In the entire West Pomeranian Voivodeship, all entities received 128 patents, with 121 granted to the West Pomeranian University of Technology. The Lublin University of Technology came second (118 decisions), and the Łódź University of Technology came third (101 decisions). The report of the Patent Office includes 17 Polish universities.

Patents obtained last year by university researchers of the West Pomeranian University of Technology were related to methods of producing and modifying various materials (e.g. tapes, catalysts, films), mechanical structures including mixers for chemical processes, cylinder heads for forming concrete and methods of testing materials.
