West Pomeranian University of Technology receives a new laboratory

08.07.2020

The Laboratory of High Frequency Antennas and Techniques of the West Pomeranian University of Technology has been equipped with the latest solutions for imaging non-conductive technical structures by electromagnetic waves. The total value of the investment is PLN 1.8 million.

The new equipment will allow testing of modern structures (artificial, designed and manufactured by man-made metamaterials) and performing spectroscopic measurements, i.e. detecting the presence of various materials in the tested sample. The laboratory will be used mainly to carry out applied scientific research, i.e. responding to the needs of today’s industry and basic research.

Thanks to a wireless research, it will be possible to detect dangerous substances such as drugs, explosives or microdamages on the surface of aircraft wings, which in the future may prevent aviation disasters.
