Three Polish institutions have so far signed an agreement on a pan-European research evaluation reform. It sets a common direction for changes in research evaluation practices that take into account quality and impact, as well as diversity, inclusivity and collaboration. One of the signatories is the University of Economics (EU) in Wrocław.

On behalf of the EU, the agreement was signed by Prof Ewa Stańczyk – Hugiet, at the European Commission’s flagship event European Research and Innovation Days 2022 on 28 September 2022.

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment was established to change the system of research evaluation. Open Science website reports that the coalition was formed as a result of an agreement reached in July 2022. The process of its creation was initiated six months earlier, after the European Commission published the report ‘Towards reform of the assessment system’, which proposed directions for change.
