Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences becomes a member of the Open Geospatial Consortium

The University of Life Sciences in Wrocław is the first university in Poland to become a member of the global organization OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium), which oversees the development and popularization of spatial data standards.

OGC is a global community committed to improving access to geospatial and location information. It brings together more than 500 companies, government agencies, research organizations and universities united in the effort to ensure that location information is reliable, honest, interoperable and reusable.

The OGC community creates free, publicly available geospatial standards that enable new technologies. Its members are also public and local government units, and administration, and one of the goals of the organization is to establish cooperation and run the so-called networking. OGC also offers funding for innovation, which gives you the opportunity to participate in projects financed by different contracting authorities.
