Wrocław University of Science and Technology and 13 other Polish universities will use electricity of renewable sources. Green energy will be received from the Municipal Waste Thermal Treatment Installation in Poznań.
It will be used by Wrocław University of Technology and Wrocław, Life and Economics Universities, Music, Fine Arts, Land Forces and Physical Education Academies – and other Polish universities: Maritime University in Szczecin, University of Technology – Opole and Poznań, University of Opole, as well as University of Zielona Góra and its Park Scientific and Technological.
The Wrocław University of Science and Technology, as a consortium leader, has signed a contract with Energia Polska, which will provide electricity produced by Suez Zielona Energia for 2 years. Universities participating in the project reported a demand for almost 100 GWh. This amount of electricity corresponds to an energy consumption of approx. 35 thousand households.
