Wrocław University of Science and Technology established Academia Iuvenum. It will create conditions for young scientists to encourage further development and tie their future with the University of Science and Technology and to be a platform for interdisciplinary intellectual exchange.
Scholars who are under 35 years of age and are at least one year after their PhD are invited to join the Academia. The team will ultimately consist of 48 people. Every year, 24 new representatives will be elected for a term of office lasting 2 academic years. Candidates will be selected on the basis of an assessment of the achievements and scientific plan for the coming years.
Academy members can receive benefits that will help them focus on scientific work – they will receive an additional 50 percent of the assistant professor’s salary, their teaching load will be reduced to the level of 120 hours. In addition, they will be included in the program of specialist training and workshops, in the effective acquisition of grants, public speaking, contacts with the media and the art of argumentation.
