The Wrocław University of Science and Technology has signed a cooperation agreement with the Łukasiewicz Research Network. Their joint projects will focus in particular on the development of technologies and products based on gallium nitride for microelectronics applications.
Technologies and products based on gallium nitride can be used in high-power power electronics systems, microwave systems, various sensors and detectors, as well as chemical and biological sensors operating in harsh environmental conditions. This huge market includes both civil and defense applications and wireless communication.
The cooperation of the Łukasiewicz institutes with the Wrocław University of Science and Technology has already resulted in a number of research projects in microelectronics, materials engineering , mechanics and machine construction, and biotechnology. The new agreement provides for joint initiatives to educate research staff and co-create the competences of the future.
