Wrocław University of Science and Technology has been officially accepted into the National Centre for Quantum Informatics. The mission of this research unit, including 11 Polish institutions, is to create an integrated base for interdisciplinary research in quantum information processing and fundamental physics.
Projects ranging from the foundations of quantum mechanics and theoretical physics to quantum technologies are carried out at the centre. Such research has been carried out for years by many teams at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, in particular those related to quantum technologies, such as quantum computers and simulations, quantum communication or quantum sensors.
The organization includes the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Gdańsk University of Technology, the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the University of Gdańsk, the Jagiellonian University, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the University of Łódź, the University of Wrocław, the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Centre for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and the University of Warsaw.
