A Modern Electrical Apparatus laboratory has been opened at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The laboratory is equipped with the latest devices and solutions from leading manufacturers of electric power equipment.
In the laboratory scientists can control industrial drives, compensate reactive power, remotely read all important parameters in the low voltage switchgear, program the Automatic Reserve Switching systems or detect an electric arc in electrical installations.
The main operation stands include: a model for simulating automatic switching in a low voltage switchgear, control and protection of electric drives based on the UMC 100.3 system, a motor start-up station with a PSTX soft starter, remote measurement, control and monitoring with a modern switchgear, arc fault detection and remote drive control.
Most of the stands are connected to the Internet, so they can be operated by a smartphone or computer.
