Dr Eng. Magdalena Baborska-Narożny, Professor at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology’s Faculty of Architecture, has won a Fulbright STEM Impact Award scholarship for research on sustainable approaches to air-conditioning in urban residential buildings. The researcher will lead it at the US-based Arizona State University.
The Fulbright STEM Impact Award is a scholarship programme for active researchers representing STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields and employed at Polish academic and scientific institutions. During the trip, which lasts from two to six weeks, they have the opportunity to implement their research project at one of the selected institutions in the United States.
The scholarship holder’s work focuses on residential architecture and the challenges of climate catastrophe and energy poverty. She seeks to understand the well-being of residents, particularly in terms of securing thermal comfort, air quality and energy consumption.
