Wroclaw University of Science and Technology researchers awarded in the Prof. Bolesław Krupiński competition

Karolina Owczarz, PhD student of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and Dr Eng. Jan Blachowski took third place in the competition of the scientific monthly “Przegląd Górniczy”. The jury appreciated their article on research using satellite radar interferometry on the example of the Legnica-Głogów Copper District (LGOM).

The jury of the Prof. Bolesław Krupiński’s Competition is awarding the texts, published in “Przegląd Górniczy” disseminating the experience of mines in the improvement of mining safety and the economic efficiency of mining.
In the published article, scientists presented the results of measurements using radar interferometry and satellite data from the Sentinel-1 mission to determine the size and extent of changes on the surface caused by human interference in the rock mass during mining activities.
