The latest prestigious ranking of the most influential people of science in the world includes 46 researchers of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. The TOP 2 % list includes the names of scientists whose publications are most often cited by other authors.

The TOP 2 % ranking is compiled by analysts from Stanford University, Elsevier Publishing and SciTech Strategies. It evaluates the entire scientific output of researchers according to a bibliometric index, taking into account criteria such as the Hirsch index, the number of citations (including self-citations) or place in the list of authors. The researchers were divided into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields. A total of almost 200 000 scientists from all over the world were included in the list.

Among Polish universities, Warsaw University has the highest number of influential researchers. The Wrocław University of Science and Technology is in fourth place, and it came in third among Polish technical universities.
