The Wrocław University of Science and Technology was visited by a delegation from Intel, led by Gregory Anderson, CEO of the American giant’s factory being built near Wrocław. During the meeting with Professor Arkadiusz Wójs, rector of the Wrocław University of Technology, a letter of intent on cooperation was signed.
The plans include conducting research projects, mentoring graduation theses and developing a new curriculum to bring it closer to the real needs of industry, as well as lectures by Intel specialists. Intel’s new factory near Wrocław is expected to be up and running in three years, with an investment value of USD 4.6 billion.
“The construction of a large plant near Wroclaw will have a huge impact on the entire region, including our university. We want to support the company in the development of technology and personnel, as this is also a big opportunity for us. Especially in areas such as microelectronics and photonics, which are at the centre of Intel’s interests”, says Prof Arkadiusz Wójs.
