Researchers at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology are working on micro-devices that will allow us to analyse saliva and dispense the right medication without leaving home. Saliva hides information that can tell us a lot about the state of our health.

The researchers want to develop miniature devices for oral theranostics and systemic diseases. Theranostics is the combination of diagnosis and therapy to select the most effective and safe treatment method. The latest technologies and materials are used in this process.

The consortium of the project ‘Innovative bio-sensors and microfluidic systems for saliva-based oral theranostics and systemic diseases – SALSETH’ includes researchers from the Serbian University of Novi Sad, the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Curtin University of Technology in Perth (Australia), as well as the companies Naturality Research & Development (Spain), West Aquila SRL (Italy), Ayus GMBH (Germany) and Materials Research Center (Ukraine).
