The scientist of Gdańsk University of Technology will receive funding for the project in the joint competition organized by the National Center for Research and Development together with the Taiwanese Ministry of Science and Technology.

The creator of the project Power2hCarbon “Materials for direct conversion of electricity to hydrocarbons” is Dr Eng Piotr Jasiński, Prof. of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In the scientist’s opinion, the electrolysis of water, and in particular the electrolysis of water and carbon dioxide, is a very promising technology for the storage of energy in the form of hydrogen or synthesis gas from renewable sources, such as wind and solar energy.

“This is so-called the power-to-gas concept that allows the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, while providing sources of energy “- emphasized the author of the project, which will be implemented jointly with the National Taipei University of Technology.
