18 Ukrainian research teams to receive financial support

The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and the US National Academy of Sciences (NSAS) have jointly selected 18 Ukrainian research teams from various scientific disciplines to receive financial support of up to approximately USD 200,000 each per year for up to three years. 

A total of approximately USD 8 million (PLN 33 million) has been allocated to fund the Ukrainian teams. This is to provide a stable environment for outstanding Ukrainian scientists to conduct research that will help rebuild science in Ukraine in the future. 

Financial support for the grants is also provided by the Royal Society in the UK, the publishing house Elsevier, the National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Royal Swedish Academy of Literature, History and Antiquity.

According to the Polish Academy of Sciences, the 18 winning teams, selected from 174 submissions, are conducting research in the following scientific disciplines: astronomy, environmental sciences, mathematics, psychology, materials science and engineering, agriculture, biomedical sciences, physics and chemistry.
