Łukasiewicz Net- Institute of Aviation to launch POLON project

21.02.2020

At the beginning of April 2020, the Łukasiewicz Net – Institute of Aviation with Creotech Instruments S.A. begins the implementation of the POLON project: Polish Drive Module. Its purpose is to develop a chemical rocket propulsion for a small satellite and provide its integration with the Hypersat platform, developed by Creotech. The Space Technology Department (ZTK) will be responsible for the implementation of the project on the part of ILot.

The POLON project is based on propulsion technologies developed by ZTK using ecological propellant – highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide. The new propellant will be an alternative to currently used toxic rocket fuels.

The project will last 3 years and will bring the implementation of the solution and its potential commercialization. The result of the project will be the first chemical rocket propulsion in space, designed and developed in Poland.
