Kinga Langowska, a PhD student from the Doctoral School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Gdańsk, was nominated by the Council of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission for a scholarship in the Fulbright Junior Research Award 2022-23 category.
The laureate will travel for 10 months to the American University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, which is the 24th best university in the world according to the ranking from 2021.
The Junior Research Award is a scholarship aimed at people preparing a doctoral dissertation in Polish scientific institutions. As part of the scholarship lasting from 4 to 10 months, PhD students carry out their own research project in the USA, related to the subject of their doctoral dissertation. In the case of the Gdańsk researcher, the project concerns the problem of forced political migration and the emergence of national and international political diasporas in the United States during the Cold War.
