Achieving neutrality in terms of carbon dioxide emissions by 2040 and improving the natural environment are the goals of the Olsztyn Energy Cluster, which includes the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn.
The decision to join the Cluster, UWM rector, Prof. Jerzy Przyborowski explained saying that the university is one of the largest electricity consumers in Olsztyn.
“We care very much to support all activities related to the sustainable use of energy – said Prof. Przyborowski, recalling the idea of Green University implemented at UWM.
The Rector reminded that at UWM has a bioeconomy center that carries out research projects, including European ones.
It is working on the most modern technologies of energy production not only from biomass, but also from algae – added Prof. Przyborowski.
