Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing house have published the latest ranking of the most frequently cited and thus most influential researchers in the world (TOP 2 percent list). The ranking includes scientists of the University of Wrocław.

The ranking presents two lists of scientists: the most cited considering their entire scientific career, and the most cited research papers in 2021. The former includes 25 scientists from the University of Wrocław, while the latter includes 17 researchers from the Wrocław university. Around 200,000 scientists appeared in each of the two lists.

In creating the lists of the most influential scientists, the analysts took into account a number of bibliographic indicators of varying importance. In addition to the number of citations (both with and without self-citation), Hirsch index, hm index, as well as the place and role in the list of authors of a given publication were taken into account.
