Scientists explored the degree of interest in prayer and spirituality during the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland and Europe

The article ‘The COVID-19 pandemic and the interest in prayer and spirituality in Poland according to Google Trends data in the context of the mediatisation of religion processes’ by Dr Jacek Stańdo, Professor at the Technical University of Lodz has been included in the list of the 10 best 2022 Digital Religion Research.

The publication was recommended for this award by The Network for New Media, Religion and Digital Culture Studies, a network based at the US-based Texas A&M University. 

Made up of university scholars from the USA, Canada, Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Sweden and Finland, the jury appreciated the interdisciplinarity and the combination of religion-related research with the study of media and digital communication. 

The publication was produced in collaboration with Andrzej Adamski, PhD, professor at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, a specialist in digital religion, and his doctoral student Gabriela Piechnik-Czyż as well as Dr Żywilla Fechner from the Institute of Mathematics at the University of Łódź.
