A grand opening of the Multi-profile Medical Simulation Centre was held at the Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow Academy with the Minister of Health Adam Niedzielski in attendance.
The centre has an ambulance simulator, a surgical and technical skills laboratory, a clinical skills teaching room, a hospital emergency ward, an intensive care room, an operating theatre with an anaesthetic laboratory, and a delivery room.
Kraków students have the opportunity to practise in conditions close to real life with the use of technologically advanced patient simulators and high-end medical equipment, based on standardised scenarios.
The Centre’s equipment also makes it possible to simulate rare and complex cases, which would be difficult or impossible to practice with a real patient. ICT systems will make it possible to analyse and discuss the course of the classes, verify mistakes and draw lessons for the future.
