The team “Impatient Drivers” from the Faculty of Computer Science at the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz came 6th in the final of the international competition “Bosch Future Mobility Challenge 2023”. The competition involving 24 teams was held at the Bosch engineering centre in Cluj Napoca, Romania.
The Bosch Future Mobility Challenge consists of creating software for a 1:10 scale model of an autonomous vehicle, equipped with a camera, provided by the organisers. The vehicle must be able to navigate in traffic around a designated mock-up, reacting to traffic signs and lights, obstacles and other road users. Teams have six months to deliver working software.
The Bosch competition is a great opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence methods and robotics, especially in a challenging environment such as urban traffic, where the use of artificial intelligence can significantly improve safety.
