Prof. Zbigniew Kadłubek, head of the Department of Comparative Literature at the philological faculty of the Silesian university, was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor for the Merits for the Silesian Province.
Prof. Zbigniew Kadłubek is a classical philologist, a comparative linguist and essayist. He is the author of sketches and books about the old and contemporary culture of Silesia, as well as the selection of essays “Saint Medea” and the geopoetical novel “Fado. A song about the soul. ” His “Letters from Rome” from 2008 (epistolary novel in the Silesian ethnolect) was performed at the theatre scenes.
Honorary Badges for Merits for the Silesian Voivodeship are awarded to persons (or institutions, local government units, entrepreneurs and organizations), who contributed to the economic, cultural and social development of the voivodship.
