Enrolment is underway for the postgraduate course “Accessibility Management in Practice” at the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Łódź (UŁ). The course has been created together with experts (also by people with disabilities) in the implementation of accessibility for people with special needs, reports the Centre for Communication and PR of the University of Lodz.

The Act on Ensuring Accessibility for Persons with Special Needs and the Act on Digital Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications are in force in Poland from 2019. As a result, every public entity is obliged to provide architectural, digital and communication and information accessibility to its customers and employees.

Meanwhile, the majority of public entities in Poland are largely unadapted to the needs of people with special needs, in particular people with disabilities.

The knowledge gained during the studies at the UŁ will allow students to implement the obligation of accessibility of buildings belonging to public entities, digital accessibility and to ensure the required standard of access to information, as well as to transfer knowledge to employees.
