By the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Academic Center of Materials and Nanotechnology of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków received the A + scientific category. In this way, AGH became the third university in Poland, after the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University, in which five basic organizational units have received the highest scientific category.

The Academic Center of Materials and Nanotechnology is the youngest basic organizational unit of AGH-UST conducting scientific and research activity since 2014.

The Center conducts interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of modern engineering, physics and material chemistry, material nanodiagnostics and nanotechnology.

Its task is also to maintain and develop modern research infrastructure, in particular related to nanodiagnostics and nanotechnologies, and to make it available to employees of AGH and other research institutions.
