The Academic Stage Art of Stage will be built in the center of Katowice to be used by students and employees of the Karol Szymanowski. The building will be erected on land acquired from the city. It will be intended primarily for performing arts.
In the Zone there are planned rooms with an area of 80 to 200 square meters with back-up facilities and a multi-functional audiovisual room with an auditorium for 350 seats, equipped with a professional orchestra. It will present dance, opera and drama performances.
For students of the music therapy specialization, workshops will be created in which, with the support of the therapeutic team, they will carry out internships and participate in research projects. The central space between the windows is to act as a foyer during large events.
The building of the Zone is to be functionally and spatially connected with the buildings currently at the disposal of the university, which will allow for the development of artistic creativity and support for scientific research.
