AGH University of Science and Technology and ArcelorMittal cooperating on waste management

The AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków and ArcelorMittal Poland Spółka Akcyjna have signed an agreement for the management of iron-bearing waste for the needs of the economy. 

Under the agreement, AGH UST and ArcelorMittal Poland will cooperate primarily in the area of ​​examining the possibilities of managing iron-bearing waste for the needs of the economy, including ArcelorMittal’s own needs.

The contract includes the development of technological solutions enabling the management of iron-bearing waste collected in landfills located south of Igołomska Street in Krakow, in an economically justified and environmentally safe manner.

Moreover, the cooperation assumes the implementation of the developed solutions for the industrial phase. It is also important to develop a method of decommissioning the landfill in a manner that is as neutral as possible for the natural environment.
