AGH University of Science and Technology female graduates dominate the Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition

Four female graduates of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Kraków have been awarded prizes in the finals of the nationwide competition Women’s Energy in Transition – Polish Edition for the best thesis on the issue of energy transition.

First prize was awarded to Magdalena Przewoźniak for her thesis entitled “Optimisation of offshore wind farm locations using GIS-based tools”. Second prize was received by Justyna Łaskawska, author of the thesis entitled ‘Research into changes in the properties of waste biomass of plant origin in the process of water leaching’. Distinctions were awarded to Aleksandra Hudek for her thesis “Hydrothermal processing of carrot pomace to obtain advanced bioproducts – the effect of raw material pretreatment on the quality of the fuels obtained” and Anna Komenda for her thesis “Synthesis and properties of SnS thin films”.

The aim of the Women’s Energy in Transition competition is to support female talent and enhance the role of women in the energy industry, promote diversity and develop future expert cadres.
