Application of students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology to help monitor vaccinations in Papua New Guinea

06.05.2020

Two students of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology have created an application that monitors vaccinations among children from Papua New Guinea. This innovative tool will help reduce the number of cases and even mortality among the youngest children.

The authors of the application are students of the faculty of basic technical problems are Jakub Maciążek and Marcin Szuster. The beginning of their work was a survey regarding personal data, property status and whether the family has access to electricity or water. In the application, the researchers should write how many children are in the family, whether all of them have been vaccinated, and other information. The form also includes questions about supplementation of pregnant women.

The processed data will allow doctors and international health organizations to know the problem, prepare the right number of vaccines, but above all to reach the local community and vaccinate children to avoid the epidemic.
