The winners of scientific prizes funded by Bayer including the President’s Award of the Polish Society of Cardiology and the AgroBioTop Award are announced. Each year, outstanding Polish scientists from two areas: cardiology and agrobiotechnology are honoured in this way.
Dr Mariusz Tomaniak from the 1st Department and Clinics of Cardiology at the Warsaw Medical University, Division of Invasive Cardiology, was awarded the President’s Prize of the Polish Cardiac Society (PTK). He received it for a series of papers “New strategies for antiplatelet management in acute and chronic coronary syndromes in a patient population at high risk of ischaemic and haemorrhagic complications”.
Dr Jakub Baranek from the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań was awarded the AgroBioTop prize, which is granted by the Biotechnology Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It honours young scientists whose recognised achievements in the field of biotechnology have contributed to the development of agricultural sciences and make an outstanding contribution to the development of agriculture.
