Biotechnology Center of the Jagiellonian University to launch SARS-CoV-2 diagnostic tests

The Małopolska Center of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow is planning to diagnose patients suspected of being infected with SARS-CoV-2 virus in the Malopolska Voivodeship.

The works are carried out in close cooperation and under the supervision of the Main Sanitary Inspectorate in Krakow, as well as in agreement and with the support of the National Institute of Public Health in Warsaw. The research is not of a commercial nature and will be carried out only for the needs of the competent services in Malopolska. Specialists from the Małopolska Biotechnology Center of the Jagiellonian University, the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University and the Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University will be also involved in them.

The Małopolska Center of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University will use the experience in molecular biology of Prof. Wojciech Branicki and in virology of Prof. Krzysztof Pyrc.
