British astronaut to open the European Rover Challenge in Poland

British astronaut of the European Space Agency Timothy Peake will open the European Rover Challenge, which for the fourth time will be held in Poland on September 14-16, 2018 at the Museum of Nature and Technology in Starachowice.

According to the organizers, 400 competitors from around the world will participate in the competition of Mars rovers. In this year’s final, 50 teams from six continents will compete, including a record number of teams from Europe.

During last three years, the European Rover Challenge has collected over 70,000 visitors and 700 teams, becoming the largest robotics and space event in the world. The Polish government has inscribed the event in the Polish Space Strategy under the name “sources of creating future specialists for the space sector”.
