The Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek, took part in the conference ‘Supporting local activity among seniors – an innovative model of social intervention’ and the opening of the Reference Research Centre at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw.

One of the topics of the event was the presentation of the assumptions of the project ‘Mitigating the effects of pandemics among high-risk groups – people 60 +’. This initiative received financial support from the Ministry of Education and Science.

The programme implemented by the Institute of Labour and Social Affairs is extremely important. “It is responsible social policy aimed at all social groups. That is why more than PLN 8 million was allocated to the project to create a Reference Research Centre”, said Minister Czarnek.

The aim of the project is to develop a model of social intervention to counteract the progressive isolation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
