Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University (UKSW) in Warsaw is launching a series of scientific discussions, the ‘Faculty Debate’, which will be led by lecturers from a number of faculties. The aim is not only to show the intellectual potential of UKSW inside, but also outside the university. So that the voice of the UKSW academic community is more recognisable in the Polish public debate.

The first debate “Is a just peace possible?” will address the issue of war and the actions taken by the authorities of the Russian Federation on Ukrainian territory. It will take place on 23 February in the Schuman Auditorium of the UKSW.

The UKSW community wants to offer a Christian sensitivity to the problem of war, considering above all the conditions for the existence of a just peace as a value for nations and societies. It will be a debate combining the different intellectual perspectives and the different scientific traditions represented by the various scholars of our University. It will show the richness of outlooks and possible approaches to the issue of war and peace from a Christian perspective.
