“The Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) meets the statutory requirements to apply to become a research university; as many as nine of the 14 scientific disciplines evaluated, i.e. the majority, received an A+ or A category”, said Damian Liszka, who heads the Scientific Activity Evaluation Department at KUL.
According to Damian Liszka, a total of 1178 people’s achievements were evaluated at the Catholic University, which included 3976 articles, 545 monographs, 163 scientific projects, as well as 66 commercialization tasks.
Among the 14 disciplines submitted by the Catholic University for parametrization, literary studies, theological sciences and canon law received the highest marks.
Category A was given to philosophy, history, linguistics, art sciences, legal sciences and pedagogy. “It is noteworthy that the prestigious A+ category is awarded to only a handful of units amongst those that meet the requirements of Category A, and their achievements are comparable to leading European scientific centers”, Liszka adds.
