In the coming weeks, the Center for Research on Poles Saving Jews and Jews Saving Poles during World War II and communism will be launched at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) – informed the rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Prof. Miroslaw Kalinowski.
The Center will be an independent research unit operating within the structure of the Catholic University of Lublin. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski added that currently the University is carrying out consultations with various communities and is planning the operation of the Center for the coming years.
The Center will cooperate with external and foreign organizations. Its publications will be translated into English and Hebrew.
There will be a scientific and program council operating in the new unit of the Catholic University of Lublin, where representatives of the Jewish community will be also invited. Prof. Kalinowski noted that the initiative of the Catholic University of Lublin is supported by the chairman of the Committee of the Polish Bishops’ Conference for Dialogue with Judaism, Bishop Rafał Markowski.
